Shhh! Secret Tool to Sharpen Your Writing

We want to let you in on a little secret. 

But please keep it on the down-low. We don’t want EVERYONE to know how easy it is to write engaging text.

It’s called the Hemingway Editor.

And it’s a FREE online tool that we use all the time.

Copy and paste whatever you’ve written into the app and you’ll be graded on the readability of your text. 

The lower the grade, the better your content.

It turns out that all those “big words” and complex sentence structures aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. At least not when it comes to people wanting to read your text.

This tool does not check grammar (we use other tools for that), but it will help you to write more clearly and effectively.

Click on this link https://hemingwayapp.com/, delete the copy that is there and paste yours in. The editor will give you a grade, which will appear on the right side, with some suggestions for changes you can make for better readability.

Ideally, aim for a 4th-8th grade level. As you make changes you’ll see your grade level go down into reader-friendly levels.

Incidentally, Ernest Hemingway’s work earned a 4th-6th grade readability level. This post earned a 4th-grade level. Yay!
