Stop "Blank Page" Syndrome
Have you ever been overcome by these symptoms?
Foggy brain
Frustrated efforts
Distracted thinking
Prolonged staring
Wandering thoughts
You’re tasked with putting together words for an ad, product listing, blog, or email and yet they JUST. WON’T. COME. OUT.
Otherwise known as “Writer’s Block”, here are some proven, at-home remedies to help you get back to more productive patterns.
Be Inspired By Others: Read some of your favorite websites for 10-15 minutes. Jot down any words or phrases that resonate with you. Then write everything that comes to your mind. Don’t edit your thoughts. Allow creativity to take over.
Talk, Don’t Write: Set your phone to record and just start talking. Then write like you speak.
Caffeinate: Coffee, tea, or cola can get your brain buzzing with ideas.
Clear Your Work Zone of Distractions: Use earplugs to shut out conversations and noises. Keep your desk clean. Shut off phone or laptop notifications. And when possible, a change of scenery can help you get out of a work funk.
Set a Timeframe and Stick to It: You might need a bit of self-imposed pressure. Move on to another task when the timer goes off, and come back to your writing assignment with a fresh mind.
